Born in Florence on February 14, 1944, resident in Venice, Knight for services to Industry, graduated in Economics and Commerce at the University of Rome, began his career in the insurance business of Assicurazioni Generali through all grades of career until the appointment of Chief Executive Officer And Vice President, which he held until 2002. He has held positions in the BoD of important economic and financial companies in Italy and abroad.
He was Chairman of INA Assitalia, Chairman of ANIA – National Association of Insurance Companies and President of UnipolSai SpA until April 2016, where he currently holds the position of Vice President. He is Chairman of Atlantia SpA, Autostrade per l’Italia SpA, Cerved Group Information Solutions SpA, Arca Vita SpA and Arca Assicurazioni SpA, Siat SpA.
Since January 18, 2017 he has been President of Edizione Holding.
He is a member of the Italian Academy of Business Economics, is Vice President of ANSPC, National Association for Credit Problems Development, Board Member of AISCAT Associazione Italiana Società Concessionarie Autostrade e Trafori since 2010. He is a member of the Assonime Board of Directors And member of the Board of Directors of the Censis Foundation. Since 2011 he is a contract professor at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan – Faculty of Banking, Financial and Insurance Sciences.
