Bernardi Marco

Marco Bernardi, born in Bologna in 1977, is the President of Gruppo Tremagi and Illumia since 2016. He graduated in Economics and Commerce in 2002, and his thesis focused on the energy sector, specifically studying the American electrical system through a research program at the University of Berkeley.

After the launch of the startup Obiettivo Energia, which later merged with the multinational company Dufenergy, Bernardi decided to further develop his profile by working at an American hedge fund in New York from 2009 to 2011. Upon returning to Italy, he capitalized on his New York experience and founded Illumia Trend, a company that deals with the procurement of Illumia’s customers in European energy markets.

Since 2016, along with his siblings Matteo and Giulia, Bernardi has taken the reins of the Group founded by his father, who retired from leading the company at the age of 62. The generational transition coincides with a new slogan that characterizes the spirit of the company, “Start Everyday”: having the courage to explore new paths without fear of making mistakes. This has led to innovations that many competitors have imitated, such as the launch of LED light bulbs or electric bicycles combined with energy supply.
