This region combines a deeply rooted Muslim faith with extraordinary modernity, also hosting an entirely migrant Christian community, including the Bishops. Pope Francis has visited these lands twice in the last three years, promoting fraternity and social friendship. The Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi, inspired by the Document on Human Fraternity, hosts a mosque, a synagogue, and a church. This year, amid the Gaza war, an extraordinary Jubilee was proclaimed to commemorate the martyrs of Arabia, Saints Areta and companions.

CHAMPIONS OF LIFE: THE ART OF GETTING BACK UP. WORLD CHAMPIONS SHARE THEIR STORIES

In collaboration with the National Observatory on Bullying and Youth Discomfort and Gestione Cittadella srl

Giovanni De Carolis, World Boxing Champion; Stefano Maniscalco, World Karate Champion; Annalisa Minetti, Singer-songwriter and Olympic Bronze Medalist; Paolo Pizzo, World Champion in Fencing. Introductory greeting by Vittorio Bosio, President of CSI. Moderated by Luca Massaccesi, Olympic Bronze Medalist in Taekwondo and President of the National Observatory on Bullying and Youth Discomfort

Everyone faces difficult moments in life, but becoming a champion is within everyone's reach. A champion is someone who, after many defeats, finds the strength to get back up and move forward. Believing in oneself is fundamental: it means reinforcing self-esteem, consistently working towards goals, and overcoming life’s numerous challenges, despite the pessimism of those who think you won't make it. There is a crucial moment in life when you must choose whether to become a champion or not, and it is when you find yourself on the ground, without strength. The decision is whether to get up or give up. A champion always gets back up!

POPE FRANCIS, MERCY, AND MISSION

Adina Balan, Head of Thalita Kum Europe; Dale S. Recinella, former attorney and chaplain in Florida’s death row; Andrea Tornielli, Editorial Director of the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See. Introduced by Andrea D’Auria, Director of the International Center of Communion and Liberation

Testifying to mercy towards all, particularly the distant and marginalized, is a hallmark of Pope Francis's pontificate. Never before has the announcement of God, who always waits to welcome us, held such great missionary significance. The Church exists to enable today’s women and men to re-experience the encounters narrated in the Gospel. This is the perspective from which to read Francis's teachings, words, and gestures, aided by stories from those on the front lines, such as in Florida’s death row and those rescuing human trafficking victims.

THE BEAUTY OF WORK: A MATTER (ALSO) OF SKILLS

Introduced by Michele Samoggia, Senior Manager Communication, Sustainability & Public Affairs at Philip Morris Italia

In the current context characterized by an increasingly competitive, fast, and digitalized economy, the continuous updating of skills, marked by innovation, is an objective that engages all involved actors, both public and private. Companies play a fundamental role, stimulating the technological update of the productive fabric and creating a context in which development and quality work can be generated. To remain competitive as a country, it is necessary to intervene to compensate for the lack of skills in various sectors and create strategies aimed at stimulating such investments.

Work is rapidly and continuously changing: it's no longer enough to know facts; one must be lively, proactive, creative, humble, ready to admit mistakes and correct them, able to work with others. Not always do companies understand these new needs and lag behind. But are schools and universities understanding this? Are they changing to foster the emergence of individuals ready for this new way of working, which also involves a life full of meaning, purpose, ideals, and fraternity?

JOB TRAINING, THE WAY TO MATCH SUPPLY AND DEMAND OF FOREIGN LABOR

Organized by AVSI and Compagnia delle Opere

Rose Busingye*, Nurse and Head of Meeting Point in Kampala; Massimo Dal Checco, President of Assafrica & Mediterraneo; Andrea Dellabianca, President of Compagnia delle Opere; Giampaolo Silvestri, Secretary General of AVSI; Concluding remarks by Edmondo Cirielli, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Job training in the countries of origin of potential migrants, also in light of new legislative mechanisms, is proving to be a fundamental approach to facilitate the regular migration of foreign workers who intend to reach our country and to meet the labor demand of Italian companies. However, the practical implementation of this opportunity faces both opportunities and challenges. In this multi-stakeholder dialogue, various parties involved will share their perspectives to understand how to best proceed towards sustainable development for all. The agreement signed by AVSI with the Tunisian government to initiate job training projects for Tunisian citizens to be employed in Italian companies will be presented; the needs and difficulties of businesses and those offering training programs will be discussed.

ENERGY COMMUNITIES AS SUPPORT FOR THE THIRD SECTOR

Live on Italpress, Vita Organized by Compagnia delle Opere Paolo Arrigoni, President of GSE; Mauro Bettini, Technical Director of Gruppo SGR, Energy Efficiency Services Directorate; Stefano Saglia, Member of the ARERA Board; His Excellency Monsignor Filippo Santoro, Archbishop Emeritus of Taranto. Moderated by Felice Vai, Vice President of Compagnia delle Opere and Energy Sector Representative. The meeting focuses on the development of Renewable Energy Communities (CER) one year after the enactment of the related regulations. We will analyze the level of success achieved and the prevailing concept of CER that is emerging. We believe that CERs represent a valuable support for social, educational, and charitable organizations operating in our country. CER is indeed a very concrete tool (although often misunderstood) that bases its balance on a set of benefits (environmental, economic, social) that must necessarily be considered in a unified way. Through CER, an "alliance" can be established between the business world, the third sector, and public administration for the common good. With the support of Enel

MEDICINE YES, AGRICULTURE NO: WHY IS SCIENCE NOT ALWAYS SCIENCE?

Live on Corriere della Sera

Organized by ilsussidiario.net

Moderated by Enrico Castelli, journalist.

This meeting aims to delve into the value of scientific discoveries, starting with the CRISPR gene-editing technique (Nobel 2020), which is widely applied for the treatment of human diseases but is met with skepticism in agriculture, where it allows for higher yields while reducing the use of agrochemicals. Why such a clear discrepancy, and is it appropriate to reject the adoption of scientific discoveries depending on the field of application?
